My First Spell
I cast a spell upon your soul,
Which once deprived of any goal
Shall seek that which once was lost
By any means and at all costs.
Beware the cat, beware the dog,
Beware the early morning fog
It comes within a shadow cast
Of senses dulled and sleepless past.
The danger's real, the danger's near
And all's forgotten but the fear.
O ye may try in vain to hide,
Alas the source is from inside.
This warning given only once
Of thine own future in this month
Is but a prelude to despair and gloom
Unless some action is taken soon.
And only then will dark turn light
And happiness come into sight
My spell fulfilled need be no curse
But simple warnings put into verse.
